Our Journey
The GFSN was born in 1989. Originally formed as a safe, social network for LGBTQ+ football fans to watch matches without fear of prejudice, the movement quickly gained momentum.
What started as pub meet-ups and informal five-a-side kickabouts eventually culminated in the launch of the pioneering GFSN National League in 2002. Today, we continue to evolve—growing from a small network of fans into a vibrant, highly organised football community that actively challenges discrimination in sport.
